NEW ADDRESS!!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that I have a new shipping address, so if you’ve ordered from me before or printed out an order form & still haven’t sent it in, please use my new address if possible!

The new address is actual a UPS Store account at my local UPS Store, which is great because all my packages get delivered to them and kept under lock & key until I show ID to pick them up. They text me when I get a package, and since they’re just a few blocks away I head over there when I get a chance!

I didn’t move, so my old address is still fine if you’re seeing this too late! 🙂 But with my kids getting busier & busier in the afternoons, and my UPS man coming later recently, I just don’t like it when I’m not home when packages arrive – even if it’s just for 30-45 minutes. Same with vacations – if my sister isn’t around, I actually hire our pet sitter to meet the UPS man just in case I get a package of your precious clothes that comes in without warning!! So this is a solution I feel really great about!

I get quite a few questions about mixing boy & girl clothes into one larger quilt. Here’s an example of one quilt that does just that!

Introducing Lisa Ruvolo, Assistant Jelly Bean

Big news at Jelly Bean Quilts today – we’re growing!

So without further ado, meet Lisa Ruvolo. She’s my new assistant, my sister, and most importantly the mom of two adorable little munchkins.

But Lisa didn’t score the job just because she’s family. She has been sewing for 12 years, and even has a Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University in Apparel Merchandising, Design, and Production to prove it. (What can I say… apparently our mom’s insistence on creating our Halloween costumes from scratch rubbed off on both of us, even though store-bought costumes seemed oh-so-cool at the time!) In fact, Lisa actually was the first in our family to make a t-shirt quilt! (Check out a pic below the interview!)

Sneak Peak – The Studio

Just a little sneak peak into my studio on this spectacular Sunday morning…

I’m busy quilting the day away! I’m lucky enough to have my studio in my home, which is pretty essential when you stay at home with 2 kids! If I had a “real” studio outside my home, I’m not sure when I would ever make it there! It’s only 8:45 AM & I’ve already been stopped multiple times to make breakfast, keep the laundry going, open some new play dough (anyone else love that smell?) and find a missing princess crown… and my 9-year-old hasn’t even rolled out of bed yet! 🙂
