What are Baby Clothing Quilts?
Baby Clothing Quilts, sometimes called first-year quilts, are a wonderful way to hang on to the memories embedded in all those adorable clothes from your baby’s first year (or years – there’s no age limit!) They are also a fantastic way to upcycle baby clothes that are either too damaged to consign or sell, or clothes you wish to keep but would likely end up in a box in your basement! Just send them to us and we will turn them into a fantastic, modern quilt.
What does the customer need to provide?
You simply give us your washed baby clothing and we design a custom baby clothing quilt top, cut and piece the top out of your baby clothes (using solid fabric for filler if needed), attach a backing using machine quilting, and bind it with a coordinating fabric. The price of the quilt covers all materials other than your clothes.
What kinds of baby clothes can be used?
Onesies, pajamas, shirts, dresses, overalls, robes, caps, swimsuits, sweatshirts, halloween costumes… you name it, I can work it into your quilt. Receiving blankets, other blankets, towels, crib sheets, nursery curtains, Boppy covers and other baby linens also make great additions to a baby clothing quilt. I even can applique little baby socks onto the quilt top. Some moms also include some special maternity clothing.
How many outfits does the customer need to provide?
It depends on the size of your order. For our standard throw-sized baby clothing quilt, about 20-30 pieces of clothing is great. For a twin-sized quilt, at least 40 pieces work best. The rest are all listed on my Pricing Chart. We also offer wall hangings of any size, tailored to the number of pieces you can provide. Of course, if your pieces come up just short I will add solid, coordinating fabric to the quilt to fill in the gaps.
And remember – the number of items listed on my order form for each size is just a minimum… you can always send more!!! I can almost always accommodate extras!

How do I Order?
It’s easy! Just order online or print out our order form, fill it out & send it in with your clothes & deposit – I will take care of the rest! I add you to my calendar as soon as I receive your deposit, so if you order and pay online I add you to my calendar that day – you then have a month or so to actually send the clothing before I will need it (some of my turnaround time is just waiting in line!)
